if you are thinking long term, then both degrees with a pg (masters or phd) are equal;
in the short term, an engineering degree might appear better, due to more lucrative salaries for engineering grads (as compared to pure science grads); however there are advantages to pursuing science as a career, that engineering doesn’t offer;
in the end, it’s all up to you and where your interests lie; you can be successful, in both streams;
