You can check out some of the well known and reputed colleges
under University of Delhi such as:
1. PG DAV College
2. Hindu College
3. Venkateshwara College
4. St. Stephen College
5. Ramjas College
6. Miranda House College
The fees and cost of studying are college specific. For instance, if you apply in Venkateshwara college , it will cost you 5000-6000 annual fees for B.A (H) English and the same will cost you for 17,000 INR in St. Stephens College.
The colleges which are mentioned above do provide Extra Curricular activities such as Theater, Dramatics , quizzes and competitions for students. They are also academically good and have a cooperative faculty staff.
Also, in top colleges you need to clear CATE examination as well as interview to get admission for English Honours.

At present , you can pursue English Hons via correspondence or DLP as DU colleges are over with the admissions and there is no seat vacant at present.
You can check out with any of the following universities in
India for admission in the desired program via correspondence:

I wonder why the counsellors in DU not recommend the name of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College for pursuing Eng(hons.)..It has the best faculty in the entire university and adds to it our academic results..which when taken into account the class average crosses 55%.Hence, leaving behind colleges like St. Stephens, Hindu and the other LORDS people talk about..Do consider and check with your sources..Thanks

Be thorough with your 12th class english syllabus (for eg. the poem 'aunt jeniffer's tigers' was asked last year in cate) … and just keep a general knowledge about famous books and authors and and famous characters by different authors

First of all prepare for MA entrance test held by DU. i m in a gr8 problem about my career!!
mam i completed my 12th in 2010 and i tried my level best to get admission in DU but my bad luck that i couldn't acheive that, becoz of my subjects…i m from IT stream and my subjects are English,BDP,DTP,IT,Phy.Edu and Maths was additional.
I scored 85.6 % in my 12th board
my all subjects are considered as vocational except english and phy.edu…..
suggest me something good becoz i want to do eng(hons)
